Design Wall Monday – January 10, 2011

Today I have a small quilt on my design wall.  It is called House on the Square by Jacqueline Paton.  I am getting ready to leave for a retreat next week and I am picking out projects that have been hanging around too long!

1st Design Wall of the Year

Where did 2010 go?  My year is starting off with some ripping.  See the block on the right some of the pieces are not where they should be.

The block on the far left is from Barbara Brackman’s new blog – see previous post for information.

Then over the weekend I made this handy little bag.  It is just right for carrying thread, scissors etc. and an applique block.  The pattern is from This and That.  It makes up quickly you can use a charm pack or cut your own 5” squares.<>I found these fabrics in my stash, which is so unlike me as I am a reproduction fabric person,  so I think I will make some more for gifts.<>

Design Wall Monday – December 27

My design wall looks the same as last week.  Over the holidays my poor sewing room has become the catch all.  So today I will be putting things back in order and hopefully get some sewing done later in the day.  In the meantime drop by Judy’s blog and see what other quilters are doing.  Have a great week.

Last week I showed you some fabrics that I wanted to use on a challenge quilt.  So today I will show you how far I have progressed.  I need to find the right fabric for the stems. and the center element.

Design Wall Monday

Today I am starting on the next project on my Power of 10 list.  It is Philadelphia Pavement pattern that dates back to 1895.  I have three quadrants sewn so I will be working on the final one.  This is what one quadrant looks like.

<>The piecing and cutting are easy, but it keeps me on my toes to follow the developing  pattern.
