It is a beautiful day here in North Central Texas. The sun is shining, the trees are budded out, the sky is blue and the Blue Bonnets are blooming in all of their splendor. I only wish it would last through the summer, but I am sure we will sizzle in a couple of months. Last weekend I spent at a delightful retreat here the center is located out in the country, the food was wonderful, as was the company. My friend and author Betsy Chutchian taught a great workshop from "History Repeated"
This is a sampling of my Carolina Lily blocks.
I saw this quilt in Vintage Quilts magazine and decided I just had to make it. I finally got it long arm quilted and bound. This picture does not really do it justice and I don't have a better space to lay it out.
The border can't really be seen. There are 3 navy, red, yellow green and bound in red. Mr. Q&H is looking into making me a rail with clamps that I can hang quilts to document and photograph them.
Next week I will be retreating again. Jo Morton is returning to Texas. She has come here every year since 2005 to do a workshop and all the attendees have a great time. The retreat will be held at Our House In Milford, which is another great place to get away.
One more thing - I need to correct last post the little quilt is Shoo Fly not Churn Dash.
Until next time.
