2011

Ever since I started my Dear Jane journey I have been interested in the civil war.2665371320049275517

This year is the 150 Anniversary and Barbara Brackman has started a new blog.  She is starting a new quilt commemorating this anniversary.  There will be a pattern for an eight inch block every week.  I plan to follow along and make this quilt.  I will be handpiecing mine – at least to start LOL.  Won’t you follow along.  If you do I would love to see photos of your blocks.

Until next time.

I'll be sewing along with you, but not by hand! Trying to decide what fabrics I will use. Could be a stash buster or builder. I am hoping for a buster.

Pat, you are really tempting me. I was NOT going to do another Civil War quilt, but this would be historic, right?
It might be fun to do by hand since my Cindy Blackberg class at Festival. I'll have to think about this some more. Happy New Year!

I'm excited about Barbara Brackman's civil war quilt blog and am thinking about doing the blocks as well, by machine. I have a significant "resource center" (aka stash) of civil war repro fabrics that need to be used.

beautiful DJ quilt...I haven't decided to do the blocks or not yet...
I also have been interested in the civil war time period for years...
so maybe thats WHY I just have to make this quilt too using my fabric collection of repros!
